Astier is a proper French bistro on a street of small plates and Scandi minimalism, so the gingham napkins and banquettes feel almost like a dare. The waiters carry food in copper pots and finish it at the table, a bit of theater you'd normally pay twice as much to watch. The kitchen likes a twist, like lamb shoulder stewed with tagine spices, and the cheese basket has shrunk to a plate of five.

Steak au poivre
“Many dishes arrive in glinting copper pots and plated tableside, like the spheres of fried mashed potato ”dauphine” that come with the steak au poivre.”

The Infatuation -
Babas au rhum
“Since their once-unlimited cheese basket is no longer on the menu (it’s now just five cheeses on a plate), you’ll have room to end date night with one of the city’s best babas au rhum.”
