    A classic country-house hotel tucked into seven acres of gardens beneath the ruined Château des Baux-de-Provence, with lavender fields and the Alpilles peaks filling the gaps between olive trees. The rooms are quietly luxurious without shouting about it, the restaurant leans on produce from the property's own gardens, and the pace slows down fast enough that a pétanque game before dinner starts to feel like a reasonable plan.
