    A champagne-and-Campari spritz in the glass-roofed Grand Salon tells you exactly what this luxury hotel is doing: it sits in a classically French heritage building on the Presqu'île, between the Rhône and the Saône, and fills it with a quiet Italian sensibility. Rooms are minimal without being austere, the restaurant runs on imported mozzarella and fresh pasta, and the whole thing holds the tension between old architecture and modern furniture without breaking a sweat.
