    Perched on a hillside above the Petanu River ravine, this resort in Kemenuh holds one of Ubud's more dramatic positions. Villas range from garden-facing rooms among old trees to curved contemporary structures with automated skylights, deep-soak tubs, and private balconies looking out over jungle and river. Jingga Restaurant does garden-informed cooking beside the infinity pool, and the cocktail programme has built a quiet local reputation.
