    A hand-painted mural of the Virgin Mary gazes over the courtyard archways while everything else in this colonial mansion boutique hotel stays cheerfully, deliberately whimsical. The rooms look minimalist until you notice the bespoke objects made by Mexican artisans, each nodding to a different regional craft tradition. Upstairs, a rooftop bar serves botanical cocktails. The Michelin Guide awarded it one Key.
