On the third floor of a renovated downtown building, with Alameda Central park directly outside the windows, Chaya is a boutique bed and breakfast that quietly splits the difference between a stylish hotel and somewhere you'd actually want to live. Rooms go raw concrete and warm wood, with king beds that suggest someone thought seriously about sleep. Breakfast comes daily and made to order, Mexican classics included. The mezcal bar is downstairs, which is either a warning or a selling point.
