    The Spanish Colonial architecture and a pool that looks like it was designed for someone to be discovered next to set the scene at Colony Palms, a boutique hotel with a past that includes an alleged mobster founder and a devoted Hollywood following. The place has been through a few names and a full redesign, but the glamour reads as deliberate rather than accidental, which is probably the point.
