A bronze sculpture of a man hauling the Palace of Westminster on his shoulder greets you in the lobby, which tells you everything about where you are. This Westminster hotel leans hard into its political past, and the wrought-iron stair railings suffragette Emily Wilding Davison once chained herself to are still in place downstairs. The 256 rooms read bigger than the number suggests, with natural light and a boutique calm that survives the refurb.
