Flynn McGarry's two-Michelin-star restaurant in Hudson Square runs its own Long Island farm, and the à la carte menu and tasting menu both show it. The dining room is tall-ceilinged and wood-lined in a way that reads warm rather than cold, which is harder to pull off than it sounds. Californian instincts meet New York ambition, and the cooking has a playful quality that never tips into precious.
