1. Alameda isn't exactly the first place you'd think to chase dim sum, but East Ocean on Webster Street makes a genuinely strong case. It's a big, buzzy dining room with wooden screens, a golden dragon on the back wall, and Lazy Susans spinning non-stop at family tables. The classics are all executed well, and the golden shrimp rice rolls, crunchy shrimp wrapped in chewy rice noodles, are worth ordering twice.

        Best Place Score

The Best Place Score is the score we give to the place you're searching from, based on how cool we think the area around it is. If it seems unreasonably low, we probably just haven't added a representative amount of awards yet.
