Three outdoor basketball courts sit inside a sprawling desert park just north of downtown, and the nets, backboards, and paint are all in shape, which is rarer on free public courts than it should be. Pickup games happen, but there's room to run drills alone without waiting anyone out. The park around them adds a pool, bike paths along ponds, and a nine-hole golf course, so a full afternoon assembles itself without much planning.
