A vaulted, red-brick Victorian chapel tucked among Shoreditch glass towers turns out to be one of the more quietly dramatic rooms in London. The Galvin brothers' French brasserie holds a Michelin star, though the cooking doesn't make a show of it: the menu runs classically, with bold sauces and combinations that feel inevitable rather than invented. Loud enough to feel alive, quiet enough to hold a conversation.
