    Helmut Jahn's Sony Center looms next door, and the interiors lean so hard into Japanese minimalism and Zen that you'll briefly forget you're in Germany. This large luxury hotel sits on what used to be Wall-era no-man's-land at Potsdamer Platz, and guest rooms by Swiss designer Hannes Wettstein pair cherrywood furniture with Bauhaus photography prints from the Berlin archives. The rooftop spa and the non-standard room layouts reward the tech and media crowd who keep coming back.
