    Seventeen rooms tucked into the hillside folds of Xihu District, with dark timber and raw concrete keeping the wabi-sabi aesthetic honest rather than decorative. Each autumn the osmanthus groves of nearby Manjuelong Village do the heavy lifting on ambiance. Longjing tea fields and Hupao Spring, prized for brewing, are a short bike ride away, and the hotel obliges with bicycles. An on-site restaurant and reading room complete the picture for guests who came to slow down.
