A former university building on Trumpington Street, a few steps from Pembroke, now doing considerably more for comfort than it ever did for scholarship. The Hotel du Vin brings its signature dark, handsome palette to the listed interiors, letting exposed architectural bones do the talking. Rooms come with hand-sprung mattresses, monsoon showers, and the occasional freestanding tub. The bistro leans French, and the wine list is long and carefully chosen.
