Inn a Day

A four-story shophouse boutique hotel on the oldest part of Bangkok's island core, facing Wat Arun straight across the river. The nine rooms are named for the hour when light hits each one best, which sounds precious until you actually watch the temple glow at that exact moment. Bare concrete and exposed pipework from the building's warehouse days stay visible, softened by serious beds and good bath products. The lobby coffee counter does reliable morning duty. Khao San Road is close and feels like a different planet.
