Kaiseki Yuzu
Japanese
Kaiseki Yuzu is a tiny, tasting-menu-only Japanese room in a Chinatown strip mall, where a slab of otoro the size of a paperback makes several appearances over ten courses. The chef was a James Beard nominee for Best Chef: Southwest, and still cracks jokes while sculpting fish into small, serious-looking things. Expect two-plus hours, some gold leaf, and enough room afterward to cross the street for a tiki drink.
