The 1929 Art Deco skyscraper that allegedly inspired the Empire State Building now houses this Kimpton boutique hotel in downtown Winston-Salem. The old R.J. Reynolds Tobacco headquarters kept its bones, and Kimpton dressed them in the brand's signature breezy, mid-century-leaning style.
