    The boulevard out front is named for the man who invented the Polaroid camera, which tells you something about the neighborhood's self-image. This Kimpton hotel sits on the Cambridge side of the Charles River, close enough to MIT and Harvard that the lobby's soft sci-fi aesthetic, industrial meets minimalist meets saturated river greens and blues, feels less like a design choice and more like a local dialect.
