La Merenda was doing international small plates in Walker's Point before the neighborhood caught up, and the reservations-required dining room still draws the crowd that doesn't need a theme explained to them. The goat cheese curds in chorizo cream sauce over crostini is the kind of thing that makes the eclectic menu feel less like a concept and more like a good idea.
