A 1930s office block in the 7th, kept faithful to its early-modernist bones by designer Jean-Philippe Nuel, is now one of Paris's more interesting boutique hotels. The split-level rooms are eccentric in the best way, squeezing genuine character out of typically Parisian square footage. The restaurant, Chiquette, nods to the Années Folles with an Art Deco bar spilling onto a patio, and there's a spa for when the city gets to you.
