    A recent renovation rescued this Avenue Louise hotel from the stately-but-inert fate that befalls so many Brussels properties, trading grand-hotel solemnity for printed wallpapers and bold color without tipping into perfunctory minimalism. Guest rooms are comfortable to the point of mild decadence, with l'Occitane toiletries and enough personality to hold your attention. Luxury shopping is steps away, and the Gare du Midi is three metro stops.
