    A floodlit Haussmannian facade with a Renaissance dome anchors the corner of Place Bellecour, which tells you right away this is a grand hotel that takes its grandeur seriously. Le Royal is an MGallery property where a recent renovation kept the period fabrics, the deep reds and blues, and the general sense that you've arrived somewhere. Smaller rooms are cozy in the Parisian sense of the word, but Lyon's restaurants will keep you out of them anyway.
