    A new-build resort in a city where colonial stone walls are the whole aesthetic is a bold move, and Live Aqua pulls it off with AoMa Estudio's colonial-meets-contemporary design and modern art threaded throughout. The largest hotel in town, it holds a Forbes Four Star rating and draws expats and visitors who want serious amenities: a fine-dining room from celebrity chef Eduardo Palazuelos, a Casa Dragones tequila lounge, and generous outdoor spaces.
