An old wine-growing estate in the Wachau valley, where the family pours their own bottles from the winery just down the road. This is a country inn doing classic Austrian cooking, the kind built around boiled beef and veal goulash and apricot yeast buns, with crayfish from the Danube when the season cooperates. In summer, the tables under the apple trees across the street fill fast, and the competition for them is entirely understandable.
