The Drouot auction house next door, where anything from a Flemish landscape to a vintage motorcycle might go under the hammer on any given morning, set the brief for this boutique hotel in the 9th. Stéphanie Coutas designed the rooms to match, mixing styles and eras the way a good auction catalog does. A hammam and sauna sit beneath vaulted cellar ceilings, which is a better surprise than most hotels manage.
