Seven rooms in a hillside mansion in Santa Teresa, where the view sweeps straight over Guanabara Bay while the beach crowds stay very far below. This boutique hotel strips the old bones back to hardwood floors and floor-to-ceiling doors, then fills the suites with Jean Cocteau drawings and boldly printed linens, each room named for a Francophile icon. The palm-shaded pool and the airy front porch with its rocking chairs do the rest.
