Staff uniforms designed by Yohji Yamamoto set the tone for this arts-forward luxury hotel on the Tokyo Bay waterfront in the Takeshiba precinct. Rooms overlook either the harbor or the Hamarikyu Gardens, and the public spaces lean into theatrical design harder than the rooms do. The hotel runs three dining concepts under one roof, from a Japanese steakhouse to something that can't quite decide if it's a cocktail bar or a club.
