    Milkfish is a Filipino home bakery that mostly turns up as a Saturday pop-up, so checking the website before you drive over is the whole game. The pastry case runs to ube-striped babka, crispy karioka fritters, and a coconut-and-pandan-soaked dulce de leche cake, all of it Filipino bakeshop tradition with a few modern ideas smuggled in. It has James Beard Foundation recognition, which is a lot for a kitchen that's also somebody's kitchen.
