A doll's house hangs upside down from the ceiling, plastic triceratops serve as tartare vessels, and somewhere near the bar sits Elmo. The whimsy is deadpan and fully committed, which tracks for a fine dining room where the French tradition gets quietly rerouted through Japanese technique. The tasting menu wasn't planned but stuck around by popular demand, which tells you something. Canada's 100 Best lists it at number thirteen.
