Six suites tucked inside a working design museum a short walk from the Zócalo, which tells you almost everything about the kind of hotel Mumedi is. Each room treats the building's colonial bones as raw material, pairing historical architecture with contemporary Mexican craft and design objects that are very much for sale. The result is a boutique hotel that functions as a living showroom, which sounds gimmicky until you're sleeping inside it and it doesn't feel gimmicky at all.
