    A knife-sharp wedge of a building on the Shoreditch-Clerkenwell border, this Berlin-born hotel arrived in East London and immediately covered every surface in contemporary art and riotous color. Royal portraits appear throughout, though the framing is more ironic than reverential. Rooms stay genuinely comfortable beneath all the vibrancy, and the wide-open lobby doubles as a co-working hub centered on the bar, which suits the neighborhood perfectly.
