Nisei
Japanese
Dark walls, timber counters, and a semi-open kitchen that lets the room feel the precision behind each plate. Nisei is a twelve-course Japanese tasting counter on Polk Street, where chef David Yoshimura builds a menu around the Japanese-American experience he grew up inside. The food moves between tradition and something harder to name, with technique that never announces itself. It holds a Michelin star.
