Ham legs hang from the ceiling and plates of food fill the window at this old-school neighborhood tasco on Rua do Heroísmo. One family runs the whole show, pouring cold beers, slicing cured presunto, and stacking sandwiches on the slate counter while cod fritters and deep-fried tripe cycle through as daily snacks. Gentrification has reshaped most of the block around it, and Xico has not noticed.
