    A 19th-century merchant's mansion in Cedofeita, its carved wood ceilings, blue-and-white azulejos, and stained-glass windows kept largely intact. The hotel rooms go the other way: white walls, candy-striped beds, and pops of blue velvet, which somehow doesn't fight the bones of the building. The gilded restaurant is the most baroque room in the house. There's also a pool and terrace for the Porto evenings that stretch long in summer.
