    Reclaimed wood, rough concrete, and restored vintage furniture fill the rooms of this design hotel tucked into three floors of Canberra's Nishi building, a mixed-use landmark also housing an arthouse cinema, galleries, and a handful of bars and restaurants. Aesop in the bathrooms and plush beds keep it from feeling too earnest about the aesthetic. If you still picture Canberra as a car park between ministries, this place will politely revise your assumptions.
