The wrap-around Art Deco bay window in the restaurant frames Lake Annecy like the hotel chose the view on purpose, which it did. This grand old lakeside palace has been around forever and knows it, but recent renovations mean the rooms now pair antique bones with unexpectedly bold mural walls. Most look straight over the water. The spa, gardens, and unhurried pace round things out for guests who came to do very little, very comfortably.
