    Frescoed ceilings and gilded mirrors fill this boutique hotel tucked into an 18th-century palazzo on Via Ghibellina, where the historic center slides between medieval and Renaissance without breaking a sweat. It spent centuries as a private residence for Florentine nobility, and the bones show, but the armchairs are deep and the staff makes you feel like a guest rather than a tourist who wandered into a museum after hours.
