Puu-Vallila is one of those Helsinki neighbourhoods that looks like someone forgot to tear it down, all pastel wooden houses and winding lanes, and plein fits right in, occupying a former butcher's shop at its edge. It's a neighbourhood bistro running a four-course set menu, opened with broth and bread before things get properly interesting. The kind of place where you eat what the kitchen has decided, and find yourself glad they decided.
