A pocket-sized wine bar in South Miami where a short, rotating menu does more than most restaurants twice its size. The kitchen counter is the best seat in the house, which is saying something given how few seats there are. The team behind it landed on Bon Appétit's best new restaurants list and The New York Times' Miami roundup, and a James Beard semifinalist nod followed. Small plates, natural pours, and a room that fills up fast.

    The dishes from the writeups

    • Chicken liver mousse

“The chicken liver mousse displays their signature flair, with house-made speculaas cookies made with peppercorn and cardamom piped with ribbons of velvety mousse and a starfruit jam.”

      Michelin Guide
    • Roasted dry-aged chicken

“Roasted dry-aged chicken is a signature, though, if on offer, the wagyu ribeye in a banana au poivre is a nice choice.”

      Michelin Guide
    • Sapodilla sticky toffee pudding

“For dessert, sapodilla sticky toffee pudding is a sweet closer.”

      Michelin Guide
    • Beef tongue

“They’re brave enough to put beef tongue on the menu (mimicking a pâté, drizzled in chimichurri) — for that alone you should order it.”

Eat Score

The score comes from the awards it's won, weighted by who gave them: a Michelin star outweighs a listicle. When you sort by what's nearby, distance changes the order, never the score.

      Stay Score

Four fifths of the score is the awards it's won, weighted by who gave them: a Michelin Key outweighs a listicle. The last fifth is where it is: the ranked places to eat and things to do around it, and how safe the country is. When you sort by what's nearby, distance from you changes the order, never the score.

          Best Place Score

The Best Place Score rates the area around a point, not any one place. The places are 60% of it: the best of what's within reach, weighed by distance. The setting is the other 40%: how life goes in that country (how people rate their own lives, how long and how well they live, how safe they are) and what it's like right there (the air, and the weather). If the score looks low, we probably haven't found enough critics out here yet.
