    A 20-by-20-foot phoenix sculpture lit from within by LEDs, it becomes a glowing beacon after dark along the light rail corridor linking north and south Phoenix. By day the fiberglass catches sunlight and pulls color out of thin air. Isaac Caruso spent seven years on it, which feels right for something this unhurried about making an impression. The fiery palette and upswept feathers do the talking without any help from a plaque.
