An old-school Vail institution on Gore Creek, Sweet Basil has been feeding skiers and locals through lunch, après drinks, and dinner for longer than most of its regulars have been skiing. The menu roams freely, pulling from wherever it likes, miso black garlic halibut one minute, bone marrow pho the next. Desserts have names that dare you to order them. The cocktails are carefully made, and the room stays lively without trying too hard.
