1. A taco stand tucked under a blue canopy near the Oakland Flea Market, where a rotating spit of deeply marinated al pastor pork gets shaved to order onto a tortilla. Get there early while the trompo is still fat and happy. The salsas alone are worth the trip, and the gringa, a small al pastor quesadilla on flour tortilla, is the move if you want to go beyond tacos. Cash, queue, eat standing up, repeat.

        Best Place Score

The Best Place Score is the score we give to the place you're searching from, based on how cool we think the area around it is. If it seems unreasonably low, we probably just haven't added a representative amount of awards yet.
