Haiku written by the chef appear on the menu here, which tells you something about the register of the place before the food arrives. This is a tempura counter in the kaiseki mold, a Michelin-starred basement room where pieces come one at a time and the meal moves through appetizers, soup, and sashimi alongside the frying. The chef calls it Ten-Masa Kaiseki, a family inheritance he's quietly expanded into something the seasons can actually speak through.
