    A 19th-century South Kensington townhouse with 24 rooms, marble bathrooms, and underfloor heating, which is either charming or necessary depending on the month. The Adria holds a Michelin Key and sits a short walk from the Natural History Museum and the V&A, making it a natural base for people who like their culture within strolling distance. No full restaurant, but breakfast is substantial and afternoon tea skews properly formal.
