A row of white Victorian townhouses just off Queen's Gate, close enough to the V&A that you could hear a docent if the windows were open. The Kensington is a Forbes Four Star hotel run by the Irish Doyle Collection, which turns out to be rather good at the old-school London luxury hotel, a genre the English themselves seem to have quietly given up on. Working fireplaces, Georgian windows, 150 rooms that are comfortable without performing at you.
