A century-old Spanish Mission convent a short drive from central Auckland, converted into a 22-room boutique hotel where the rooms are named things like Nun's Repose and Mother Superior. The latter is a two-bedroom apartment with a full kitchen, which feels appropriately abbess-level. Decor runs eclectic, with weathered surfaces and a mix of vintage and modernist furniture. On-site restaurant Ada does contemporary New Zealand cooking with an Italian lean.
