    Strait Street was once Valletta's notorious sailors' quarter, and the Embassy has landed squarely in the middle of it as a sleek contemporary boutique hotel that owes more to now than to nostalgia. Rooms mix monochromes with deeper accent colors, and the better ones open onto terraces above the old city's rooftops. The rooftop pool and glass-walled Mediterranean restaurant take the view everyone came for.
