    Six rooms tucked behind an unmarked door in Valletta, each named after a Coleridge poem and furnished like a well-traveled scholar's home. The 17th-century building has antique pieces, textured fabrics, and original artwork without tipping into museum territory. It reads as a private townhouse that happens to take guests, which suits Valletta's compact, walkable old city perfectly. The Michelin Guide has it among its selected hotels.
