Seven tables in a handwritten-menu dining room above one of Soho's most storied pubs, where the portraits of former regulars like Lucian Freud watch you eat calves' brains with brown butter. The kitchen, now run by Angela Hartnett's husband Neil Borthwick, keeps the menu brief, French, and unapologetically meaty. Madeleines arrive fresh at dessert. Downstairs, no phones, no music, and thirty champagnes by the glass keep the bohemian faithful happily off-grid.
